Description
Rudnick Jewelers has a long history in the diamond and precious gems business. Our family-owned store has been passed down through generations. Here’s a short history of our journey.
It all started with Barnett Rudnick, who learned watchmaking and jewelry in Vilnius, Lithuania. After coming to America, he became an apprentice in Rochester, NY. A few years later, he opened his first jewelry store in Sheboygan, WI, in 1911. In 1913, he moved to our current location at 919 N. 8th St. in downtown Sheboygan.
Barnett’s son, Charles, joined the business in 1935 as an optometrist. The original optometry office is still part of our store. Barnett’s other son, Milton, joined the business after WWII as a watchmaker and jeweler.
The brothers worked together for many years until Barnett passed away in the early fifties. Milton’s son, Alan, joined the team in 1978 and worked with his father and uncle until they retired—Charles in 1986 and Milton in 1993. Alan also helped start a Business Improvement District in downtown Sheboygan to support local businesses and beautify the area, serving as board president for many years.
In 2009, Alan’s son Paul joined the business after studying design and photography at the University of Arizona. Paul now runs the business, continuing the high quality and strong ethics that have always been important to us.
